StoryBoy is an iPhone/iTouch ebook reader application (app). It is a portal to a world of interactive animated ebooks made especially for kids ages 1-7 years old. StoryBoy reinvents the story book for a generation of children. It digitizes books, adds interactivity, animation, music and a narrator's voice. From the StoryBoy app you can read original ebooks or have them read to you - some titles have multiple language tracks. An entire kids library in a pocket.

Objective

Techsailor was tasked to develop a portal for users to search for and purchase ebooks for the iphones. The design included a conventional web version and also a version for the iPhone. Users are also able to share the ebooks with others.

Solution

For the design of Storyboy, Techsailor devised a design concept for the portal that is suitable for both children and adults. This similar concept saw a different manifestation on the IPhone Web UI View. Both designs were deemed apt. The site development included an ebook listing and the ability to make purchases (via Apple's app store) as well as the ability to share ebooks with friends.
