Client

The HP Power to Change Campaign was a corporate social responsibility project initiated by HP that encourages personal computer users around the world to make behavioral changes in support of the environment. The Power To Change campaign is launched worldwide in Asia Pacific, Europ, Middle East and Africa.

Objective

The campaign encourages users to download a new desktop widget that tracks the cumulative energy savings associated with participants turning off idle PCs when not in use. As a way of keeping people connected, a blog was required for users to share their thoughts, insights and articles on environmental-friendliness. At the top of the blog is the widget that displays the estimated number of cars taken off the road whenever people switch off their idle computers.

Solution

As the campaign draws to a close, it had... ... 32,427 participants ... saving 94,382 kwh of energy ... reducing 56,895.24 kg of carbon emissions ... which is equivalent to taking of 3772.52 cars off the road!
