Tiong Chuan comes from a simple, yet complicated family. He has a dream, since his younger years, to enrol in University and this was inspired by a teacher who told him: "The way to get out of poverty is through education". Tiong Chuan first got into contact with computers when he took Art as a subject in secondary school; then he was selected for and won a Multimedia competition at the National Level. His passion and success in Art may well have led him into the Arts stream in high school but Tiong Chuan chose to go with the crowd into the Science stream. Recently he closed the chapter in his childhood dream when he graduated from the National University of Singapore with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Tiong Chuan feels glad that his involvement with various University clubs and activities has allowed him to realize his calling in the Web and IT industry. This has ultimately led him onto the deck of Techsailor where he sets sail as a Quality Control Associate. Not forgetting his passion in Art and Multimedia, Tiong Chuan has a hope to get involved in design some day.

During his free time, Tiong Chuan likes to go running because of his firm belief that it's only during running, when one's mind and body will function as one. Besides running, he enjoys sports like badminton, beach volley ball and outdoor activities such as trekking. Tiong Chuan's short term goal in the near future is to take up mountaineering and thereafter, travel to various places around the world to scale and conquer renowned mountains.
